Help to Educate Scheme – Grant Applications Now Open
The Hazara Academic Network is inviting applications for its Help to Educate Scheme, a targeted initiative designed to expand educational access, strengthen community learning, and support academic development within Hazara communities both in the UK and internationally.
As part of this programme, the Network is offering two grants of £250 each to small, non‑profit organisations whose work directly contributes to education, capacity building, or community empowerment through learning. These grants are intended to uplift grassroots initiatives, encourage community-led solutions, and support organisations that are creating meaningful educational opportunities—whether through tutoring, literacy support, cultural education, women’s learning programmes, youth development, or academic mentoring.

Who Can Apply
Organisations must meet the following criteria:
Non-profit status — Either formally registered or operating as a recognised community group.
Educational focus — Activities must directly support learning, academic development, or community education (e.g., tutoring, literacy, mentoring, women’s education, youth engagement, language support).
Operational capacity — Applicants should demonstrate they have the volunteers, structure, or partnerships needed to deliver the proposed activity effectively.
Transparent use of funds — A short explanation of how the £250 grant will be used to support educational outcomes.
Commitment to inclusion — Organisations must uphold principles of equality, inclusion, and non-discrimination.
Operating within Afghanistan — Activities must be based in Afghanistan.
How Applications Will Be Assessed
Applications will be reviewed on the basis of:
Community need — How clearly the organisation identifies and responds to an educational challenge.
Impact potential — The expected benefit to learners or the wider community.
Feasibility — Whether the proposed activity is realistic and deliverable with available resources.
Sustainability — The organisation’s ability to continue or grow the work beyond the grant period.
Important Deadline – 31 March at 12:00 Midday (12:00 hrs)
All applications must be submitted by 31 March at 12:00 midday. Late submissions will not be considered.
This is a valuable opportunity for small organisations doing vital educational work—especially those with limited resources—to receive direct support and recognition for their efforts.
