Hazara Fund - Introduction
The Hazara Fund is a pioneering initiative launched by the Hazara Academic Network to provide sustainable, long-term support for Hazara communities in the UK and globally. Rooted in the values of equity, empowerment, and resilience, the fund is designed to uplift Hazara individuals and communities through targeted investments in education, mental health, women’s empowerment, and grassroots development.
The Hazara people, an ethnic group originating from Afghanistan, have faced generations of persecution, displacement, and marginalisation. Despite these challenges, Hazara communities have demonstrated remarkable resilience and a strong commitment to education, civic engagement, and cultural preservation. The Hazara Fund seeks to harness this potential by creating a reliable source of funding that supports community-led solutions and long-term development.
“The Hazara Fund is a community fund created to support all Hazaras. It provides grants that Hazara organisations can apply for, and only those that meet the set criteria will receive funding. The goal is to help support important projects, education, and development within the community through a fair and transparent application process.”
